Fair Isle's new £45.4 million ferry Good Shepherd V has been unveiled in Whitby as the 40-year-old Good Shepherd IV stays out of service after a breakdown. The 24-metre vessel will carry passengers, vehicles and freight for the island of about 60 people. Funded by Shetland Islands Council and a UK levelling-up grant, it is expected in Shetland before Christmas after sea trials, weather permitting.
