Wigan officer demoted after man dies post arrest
A man in Wigan died after police released him without adequate clothing following his arrest. An inquiry found misconduct by a police sergeant, who was then demoted in rank. Authorities reviewed the actions of four officers connected to the case, but the Crown Prosecution Service determined there was insufficient evidence for criminal charges
