Starmer Faces Fresh Crisis as Mandelson Files Loom
Labour MPs are struggling to trust Keir Starmer's judgment following the Mandelson appointment scandal. Starmer appointed Mandelson as Washington ambassador in December 2024, a decision that led to his chief of staff Morgan McSweeney resigning in February 2026. A new tranche of Mandelson files is expected imminently, after Kemi Badenoch's humble address motion passed the Commons in February.
