England's headteachers report Ofsted inspections cause greater stress and harm to mental health
Headteachers in England are saying Ofsted's new inspection system is causing them greater stress and harming their mental health. The education secretary, Lucy Powell, has received numerous instances of these detrimental effects from the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT). Ofsted's new framework replaced previous grades with a more detailed system, following the death of headteacher Ruth Perry in 2023.
