Bank of England rate decision due 30 April as inflation rises

Bank of England rate decision due 30 April as inflation rises

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee will announce its next interest rate decision on Thursday 30 April. UK inflation was 3.0% in January, above the 2% target. The Bank said inflation would stay higher than previously expected 'in the short term' due to the Iran war's impact on energy prices. Financial markets no longer expect any rate cuts in 2026.
