Eiffel Tower closed by strike over female staff being moved
Staff at the Eiffel Tower went on strike on Monday, forcing its closure after female workers were reportedly moved for a Hindu religious group's visit. The company that runs the monument, SETE, confirmed the delegation asked to limit "interactions with women," which it said should not have been accepted. Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire said an investigation into the incident would be launched.
