EU investigates Shein over illegal goods and addiction
The European Commission has started a formal inquiry into the Chinese retailer regarding digital law violations. Officials are scrutinising the platform's "addictive" layout and its ability to stop sales of weapons or prohibited dolls. The company could face financial penalties reaching 6 per cent of its total worldwide revenue. Shein claims it is strengthening safety measures and previously banned sellers of offensive items.
