Pound nears two-month low as dollar rises
People and firms using pounds may face higher costs as the currency weakened while investors favoured the US dollar during rising tensions in the Middle East. Sterling traded at $1.334 on Monday, staying just above its May 18 low as expectations grew that US interest rates could rise later this year. Markets put year-end UK rates at 4.26% and US rates at 3.92%.
