UK puts four cloud firms under new checks

Banking and insurance customers could face fewer problems if major technology failures happen. UK authorities said on 10 July that Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Oracle will come under direct oversight from 13 July because they support key financial services. Google Cloud backed the plan, while firms must carry out resilience tests, report major incidents and complete regular self-assessments.
