Nearly 80 Labour MPs urge Starmer to resign

Almost 80 Labour MPs have now publicly called on Keir Starmer to resign as prime minister after the party's collapse in last week's local elections. The total grew throughout Monday evening as MPs added their names to a coordinated push demanding Starmer set a timetable for his departure. Labour figures including former minister Catherine West are pushing for a leadership contest to be completed by September.
