Birmingham nurses make 13,000 calls to fight measles
Lorna Grinnell-Moore leads a Birmingham team contacting families who missed MMR immunisations. During late 2023, the group placed 13,000 calls, convincing nearly 1,000 hesitant individuals to accept vaccinations. Officials in North London are now studying this approach to tackle their own recent outbreak involving 50 confirmed cases. Former medical staff were recruited to address fears regarding the disease, which primarily affects children under 10.
