Dozens reportedly killed as gunmen rampage through villages in northwest Nigeria
Armed attackers on motorbikes have killed at least 32 people and set fire to homes and businesses in multiple villages in northwest Nigeria’s Borgu Local Government Area, close to the Benin border. Survivors described early-morning raids marked by indiscriminate gunfire and the burning of property. Local officials say some victims were also abducted. The violence is part of a wider surge in bandit attacks that have displaced communities and heightened security concerns across the region.
