Italy also trims GDP forecast on Iran war
Italy has joined Germany in cutting its economic outlook this week as the Iran war takes its toll across Europe. Rome trimmed its 2026 GDP growth estimate to 0.6% from 0.7% today, with Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti calling conditions "totally exceptional" and warning further revisions may be needed. Italy's budget deficit is now seen at 2.9% of GDP this year, up from the earlier target of 2.8%.
