Brothers convicted of 1984 gay hate murder
More than forty years following the homicide, two siblings were convicted of killing a government employee in an incident that law enforcement has characterized as a homophobic hate crime. Anthony Littler, 45, was assaulted in 1984 while making his way home through East Finchley by Michael Stewart (now 57) and Anthony Stewart (now 60), both of whom were teenagers at the time. The case was finally solved after their younger brother told detectives they had admitted responsibility for the killing.
