Dhaka court orders Interpol arrest notice for Tulip Siddiq
A Dhaka court ordered Bangladesh's Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday to seek an Interpol red notice for Labour MP Tulip Siddiq, over the alleged illegal acquisition of a flat in Gulshan-2. The commission alleges she used her family connection to former PM Sheikh Hasina to influence a land allocation process. Siddiq has already received six-year sentences across three other corruption cases linked to Hasina. She called earlier verdicts a "complete farce" and resigned as economic secretary in January 2025.
