Mandelson arrested over baseless plan to flee UK
Peter Mandelson was taken into custody on Monday and freed early Tuesday, after police were informed he intended to travel to the British Virgin Islands. His legal team called this idea "baseless" and "utterly untrue," demanding proof from officers. Law enforcement had initially agreed to question him voluntarily next month but proceeded with an arrest following the flight claims. Mandelson disputes all allegations.
