Democrat Gina Hinojosa has defeated Republican Greg Abbott to become governor of Texas, the first Democrat to win the job in more than 30 years. Hinojosa will also be the state's first Latina governor. Abbott, who had led Texas since 2015, conceded and said he would help with the handover of power.
