Death threats against MPs become daily reality as abuse keeps growing
Labour MP Jess Phillips said she once received more than 600 rape threats in a single night and now treats death threats as part of everyday life. MPs from different parties told the Guardian abuse has worsened, with armed police, panic buttons and tougher security now common. Several warned the hostility is putting people off entering politics, especially women and minority candidates.
