Vapes still causing bin fires, year after ban
A year after their prohibition, improperly discarded vaping devices are still igniting perilous fires inside refuse collection vehicles and at rubbish disposal facilities. Waste companies report that hundreds of thousands of vapes are still thrown away weekly, posing a major fire risk to staff. Biffa, a large waste company, suggests a £5 deposit to help people dispose of them correctly.
