Welsh Water tells thousands to boil drinking water
In Rhondda Cynon Taf, thousands of inhabitants are mandated to boil their mains water supply before using it for drinking, preparing food, or cleaning their teeth. On Friday, Welsh Water distributed a precautionary alert due to a malfunction in the chemical purification system at Maerdy Water Treatment Works. Distribution points for bottled water are being arranged to serve consumers in the 24 affected areas.
