Cambridge £2.4m cycle street attracts 1,500 daily, not 3,000.
England's first 'cycle street' in Cambridge cost £2.4 million but attracted far fewer riders than advertised. The Greater Cambridge Partnership, the scheme's developers, had claimed over 3,000 cyclists used Adams Road daily. However, two manual counts in 2022 and 2026 found only about 1,500 bikes travelled along it each day.
