The country is enduring its hardest financial crash in years, leading to widespread power grid failures and severe fuel shortages. Speaking on Sunday, President Miguel Diaz-Canel argued that recent American terrorism accusations are just an excuse to maintain the punishment. Washington instead blames the crumbling national infrastructure and crippled transport networks on poor local management by the island's own leaders.
