California teacher charged with trying to assassinate Trump

The man who opened fire at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Dinner has been charged with attempting to assassinate the president. Cole Tomas Allen, 31, a Caltech-educated teacher from Torrance, California, sent family members a manifesto naming Trump administration officials as targets shortly before the attack. A Secret Service agent was hit but survived thanks to body armour, and no other attendees were seriously injured.
