CrossCountry trains cancelled 8% of services

Train cancellations across Great Britain rose to 4.1% between April and June this year, up from 3.2% in the previous three months. CrossCountry recorded the highest proportion of cancellations, at 8%, which was twice the national average. Network Rail stated that tracks and trains were put under considerable strain by the extended spell of unusually hot and arid conditions.
