China pushes back on US threat over Iranian oil
China said on Monday it would take necessary steps to protect its interests after Washington warned that buyers of Iranian oil risk severe secondary sanctions. Beijing, the biggest importer of Iranian crude, said sanctions and pressure do not resolve disputes, and has previously banned its companies from complying with similar American measures. It sets up a direct test between the world's two largest economies.
