Cheetahs and snowy owls to gain new conservation protections
Cheetahs, snowy owls and hammerhead sharks are among dozens of species on the brink of extinction set to receive greater conservation protections under new international agreements. The animals are among those identified as needing urgent action to prevent their populations from declining further. The protections apply to species across land and sea identified as being at serious risk.
