Charter flight from Muscat confirmed as 130,000 Britons register for Gulf evacuation help
Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper told MPs on 3 March 2026 that 130,000 British nationals had registered with the Foreign Office across the Gulf, with around 300,000 Britons in the region in total. The government confirmed a charter flight from Muscat, Oman would depart within days, prioritising vulnerable nationals. Cooper said Britain was working with airlines to increase capacity out of Muscat, and urged those in Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar and the UAE to register with the Foreign Office and follow its travel advice.
