Cardiff Data Centre Plan May Use Temporary Gas Plant

Cardiff Data Centre Plan May Use Temporary Gas Plant

Developers planning a data centre at Cardiff East Park and Ride near Llanrumney want a temporary gas plant up to 49.9 megawatts. Curtis Hall says turbines may run from 2028 for five years if a 150 megawatt grid link arrives late, calling gas a worst-case option. Friends of the Earth called it climate-wrecking. Most local Senedd members objected. Welsh ministers may call in the plan.
