France on alert as heatwave hits 40C
More than half of France is under a severe weather warning as western Europe faces its second extreme heatwave this year. President Emmanuel Macron urged everyone to be vigilant and look after vulnerable people, with temperatures expected to go above 40C. A man died near Paris on Thursday as temperatures reached 37C, leading to train cancellations and exam changes.
