Government announces under-16 social media ban, enforcement unclear.
While a social media ban for under-16s was announced Monday, many questions about its practical enforcement and scope remain. Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X are named, but it's unclear if gaming sites like Roblox or apps like Pinterest will be included. The government plans "highly effective age assurance" to enforce it, with further details on VPNs and other restrictions coming in July.
