Burnham warns broken care will break the NHS, promises free care

Andy Burnham told the BBC on Sunday that Labour's next election manifesto will promise an NHS-style, taxpayer-funded national care service in England, free at the point of use. The prime minister called the system threadbare and said broken social care would end up breaking the NHS. He said he would set out a timetable at this week's Liverpool conference, his first as prime minister.
