Burnham blames Brexit decade for drift as his first conference opens
Labour's conference opens in Liverpool on Sunday, Andy Burnham's first as prime minister, after he said the decade since the Brexit vote had brought drift and division. He told the Guardian the public finances were challenging before next month's Budget but that he could still deliver radical change. The conference runs until Wednesday, and Burnham has already ruled out a snap general election before 2029.
