Burnham to end indefinite jail terms by parliament's end
Prime Minister Andy Burnham declared his intention to abolish Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) sentences, which were prohibited in 2012 without retroactive effect. He stated the government plans to introduce legislation to conclude these sentences before the current parliamentary term finishes.
