Burnham Announces £48m Dementia Research Partnership

Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced a £48 million industry partnership to accelerate dementia research and clinical trials. The Government is investing £33 million through the Dame Barbara Windsor Dementia Goals programme, with Bristol Myers Squibb, GSK and Gates Ventures also backing The BARBARA Alliance. Dementia will be an early priority for the new Health Data Research Service, backed by up to £600 million from Government.
