The UK Health Security Agency reported positive flu tests reached 6.5% and positive COVID-19 tests climbed to 9.1% from 28 September to 4 October 2026. Hospital admissions for flu were 1.97 per 100,000, while COVID-19 admissions rose to 2.04 per 100,000. Flu activity since August has been higher than the same period in the past four winter seasons.
