British startup sends drug-making unit to space

Patients could soon self-inject cancer drugs at home, avoiding hospital visits for intravenous treatments. British startup BioOrbit launched its Box-E unit, developed in London labs, on a rocket from Kennedy Space Center on 15 May. The compact, microwave-sized unit will stay in orbit for about six weeks to grow pure protein crystals.
