British man detained almost two years in Saudi.
Ahmed al-Doush, a British national held in Saudi Arabia since August 2024, is suffering worsening mental and physical health, his family says. He was detained during a family visit and is now serving a reduced five-year sentence over historic social media activity and alleged links to a Saudi dissident. His detention has been labeled arbitrary by a United Nations panel, which also advocated for his instant freedom. His spouse has made direct appeal to Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Crown Prince.
