Bordeaux wildfire reaches within nine miles of city

A wildfire southwest of Bordeaux was around nine miles from the French city's outskirts on Monday, prompting mayor Thomas Cazenave to warn of further evacuations. More than 325,000 people have fled homes across France and Spain this month, including 220,000 evacuated in France alone. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez described the overall situation as very unfavourable, while firefighters said conditions had become extremely difficult to manage.
