Boots has been sold for $8.9bn (£6.7bn), including debt, to Wittington Investments, the Canadian holding company of the Weston family. The deal covers Boots shops in the UK and Ireland, Boots Opticians, No7 Beauty and its Thailand and franchise businesses. Seller Sycamore Partners, the US private equity firm, had owned the chain for only 18 months. Completion is expected early in 2027 after regulatory checks.
