Blade Attack Leaves Teachers and Pupils Hurt in Poland

A 19-year-old student, identified only as Jakub Z., was detained after people were attacked with a sharp object at a vocational school in Ostroleka, north-east of Warsaw, on Wednesday morning. Pupils, teachers and passersby were among at least eight people injured, some airlifted to hospital, though officials said no injuries were life-threatening. The suspect was hurt and hospitalised. Investigators have not yet given any motive.
