Birmingham loses Labour majority after 14 years of control

Birmingham City Council has no single party with a majority for the first time in 14 years, after results from Thursday's local election were declared on Friday. Votes split across six groups. Council leader John Cotton lost his seat. Reform UK leads with 22 councillors; Labour holds 17, ending its uninterrupted 14-year control of the city.
