Birmingham Council Vehicles Issued Clean Air Zone Fines
Birmingham City Council's own service vehicles received at least 82 penalty notices for Clean Air Zone breaches. These fines occurred during the Clean Air Zone's first month of operation, prompting questions from opposition councillors. Councillor Timothy Huxtable noted the council taxed residents while its vehicles ignored the charge, despite claims the zone aimed for air quality.
