Barnsley school criticised after 14-year-old girl's death
A family says children need better protection from bullying. An inquest heard Willow-Tarriss Shannon Lynette Lee, known as Ollie, died in October 2024 after enduring repeated bullying and homophobic abuse while attending Barnsley Academy in South Yorkshire. The hearing was told the 14-year-old had self-harmed in class, made two suicide attempts and was waiting for an autism assessment.
