A British Airways Boeing 777 heading from Heathrow to New York came within about 50 feet of a fast-moving silver object shortly after take-off in June, air safety investigators have now revealed. The pilot described it as a drone the size of four toasters. The UK Airprox Board gave the encounter its highest risk rating, saying chance played a major part in avoiding a collision.
