Women with PMOS need yearly NHS health checks
New guidance from NICE, the health regulator, says women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) should get annual checks to spot wider health issues. The condition, which affects around one in eight women, was previously known as polycystic ovary syndrome but was renamed in May. These yearly reviews will help with earlier diagnosis and better management of the condition, which affects 3 to 4 million women in the UK.
