Autumn Durald Arkapaw is first woman cinematography Oscar winner

A significant achievement for women in film was recognised at the 2026 Oscars ceremony. Autumn Durald Arkapaw received the Best Cinematography award for her work on "Sinners", becoming the first Black woman and the first woman overall to claim this prize. She thanked director Coogler and also prompted women present to rise.
