Aston Villa near £38m deal to sign Joao Gomes from Wolves

Aston Villa is close to signing Brazil international Joao Gomes from Wolves for about £38m. Gomes has departed from Wolves' training camp and is due to undergo a medical examination on Thursday. Villa is looking for midfield reinforcements and Gomes played in 41 matches for Wolves last season.
