Apple lays off 147 engineers ahead of new product launches

Apple has cut 147 jobs across its Silicon Valley offices, with most of the layoffs affecting software engineers and teams working on augmented and virtual reality products. Cupertino, Apple’s headquarters, has been hit the hardest. The cuts come just weeks before the company’s expected September product launches.
