New cancer jab prepared in Hertfordshire
A new immunotherapy injection designed to treat several types of cancer is moving closer to being ready for wider use. The treatment works by helping the body’s own immune system identify and fight disease. At Hertfordshire, employed by Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, a nurse is preparing the biological therapy, which researchers believe could help tackle more than a dozen forms of cancer. The approach is also aimed at improving how cancer treatment is delivered to patients.
