Anthropic blocks outside AI agents from using Claude subscriptions
Claude Pro and Max plan holders can no longer route their subscriptions through third-party agentic tools such as OpenClaw, Anthropic confirmed, blaming the strain on its computing infrastructure. Those who want external agents powered by Claude must now pay per token through the API or top-up billing. OpenClaw's creator accused Anthropic of absorbing community-built features into its own Claude Code product before shutting competitors out.
